Prenatal and Postnatal Workshops
As each workshop is tailored to the setting and group, fees are provided upon enquiry.
Postnatal Group Programme
4-week closed group | 60-minute sessions
London: £200
Midlands groups launching soon. Fees will be confirmed upon release.
Groups are intentionally small and professionally facilitated to ensure depth, safety and high-quality psychological support.
1:1 Therapy
£130 per 60-minute session.
We accept the following insurers for individual therapy: Bupa, Vitality, WPA and Cigna.
We offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation call to explore what you are looking for and determine whether Becoming Mum is the right fit.
If your needs would be better supported elsewhere, we will discuss this openly and guide you towards appropriate services.
Each session runs for 60 minutes.
This allows time for structured psychological content, reflective discussion and meaningful connection within a calm, unhurried space.
Groups are intentionally small (typically 6–8 participants) to allow depth, safety and genuine connection.
This is a contained, professionally facilitated space rather than a large drop-in class.
Groups are facilitated by Clinical Psychologists and incorporate evidence-based approaches, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
They are structured support groups rather than group therapy. If individual therapy would be more appropriate, this will be discussed with you.
Yes. Babies under one year are welcome in postnatal groups.
The environment is designed to accommodate feeding, soothing and movement. The focus remains on the mother, with baby alongside.
As groups are closed and build progressively over six weeks, we encourage attendance at all sessions where possible.
If you are unable to attend one session, a brief summary of the material can be provided and phone call with the facilitator. Sessions are not recorded in order to preserve confidentiality.
We require 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged at the full session fee.
If you are using private health insurance, cancellation fees remain your personal responsibility, as these are not covered by insurers.
Yes. All sessions are facilitated in line with professional ethical standards.
In group settings, participants are asked to agree to shared confidentiality to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
Absolutely. Matrescence is not limited to the first year.
Each developmental stage of motherhood can bring renewed identity shifts and competing demands.
It is never too late to understand your own transition with greater clarity and compassion.
Emerging research shows that fathers and primary caregivers also experience significant psychological and neurological changes during early parenthood.
At present, Becoming Mum focuses on matrescence. We are developing future offerings to support fathers in their own transition and will share updates in due course.
Yes. You do not need to meet diagnostic criteria to benefit from support. Matrescence is a developmental transition, not a disorder.
Many mothers seek support because this season feels significant and they want space to understand it more deeply.
All clinicians working with Becoming Mum are registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologists, trained to doctoral level and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
We adhere to strict professional and ethical standards.
Becoming Mum does not offer crisis or emergency services.
If you are experiencing severe distress, intrusive thoughts, or require urgent support, please contact your GP, local perinatal mental health service, NHS 111, your local crisis team, or attend Accident & Emergency.
